Ladies!

Hey girls!!
Great job for the last two weeks on the strength training!  Everyone seems to be really pushing hard with the weights,  but lets be sure to remember the termonlogy as well as the steps to the lifts.  That means we need to be practicing them on our own time!!

Girls ive been noticing that some of us have not been stretching enough on our own time.  I want you all to make sure that you are helping eachother out and reminding one another to stretch.

Okay so now that we are going on a new schedule change i want you all to make sure you are emailing me to ask if you can come to a different class time that is not your own.  If you do not and we have too many girls then you will be training with the 6:30 class on that evening.  We need to make sure there is communication about this because i cant have too many girls in one class like i did a few weeks back.  so please email me if you need to come earlier or later tdkozisek@gmail.com.

hey girls!!

Hey force!  how are you all?!?!  i hope all of you had a great easter.  I also hope all of you enjoyed Tuesdays guest speakers (and also watching me beat coach charlie in a workout ;)).
Now we are back to the grind girls!!  The plan for this week is to get some front squating in and quickly review the clean.  I hope all of you have practiced a few times like i have asked.  We shall see tonight!
Girls i just want to remind you that even though the weather is getting warmer i do not want to see short shorts in the gym when we train.  All of you have done a great job at following the rule but i just dont want there to be any confusion.
Ladies you are all doing a great job with working hard with me when we train but i want even more hard work as the season is beginning to come to an end.  Lets go out with a BANG!!!

Force!!!!

hey girls!!
Hope all of you had a great week training with coach charlie!  This week we will be going over the clean again as well as front squatting so be prepared!!
Please remember to wear the appropriate clothes even though its starting to get warm outside!  Rules are rules.  If the dress code is broken you wont train until you come back in the appropriate clothes.

On a brighter note,  how was everyones weekend?!?!  did you have a great saint patricks day!?  Anyone have an awesome game this weekend??

Girls please make sure you are continuing to stretch and practice your lifts!

Some fun news!!  next week we will be getting two guest speakers from southern california who are world class crossfit athletes as well as previous division 1 college volleyball players so please please come.  it will be super beneficial and wayyyyy fun!

sup girls!!

Hey ladies!!

This last week all of you got the opportunity to work with Coach Charlie.  I hope all of you were on your best behavior and showed him the respect he deserved.  I was very happy to learn that he had nothing but great things to say about all of you.  Good work!

These past few weeks you ladies have had the chance to listen to great speakers on fridays.  I want to say again that it is very important that all of you show up to the friday classes.  These speakers are showing up to speak to you on there own time so they can help all of you succeed.  When we only have twenty girls show up out of over 100 volleyball girls that is pretty sad.  For the girls that have been showing good job!!  Keep trying to get your team members there!

Alright ladies i would really like to know the schedule of your tournaments for the months of march and april if you have them so myself and coach charlie and coach micha can try to attend.

Ladies the plan for the week is to begin working on the clean progressions! please please PLEASE! do not be late and do not blow off training this week! Its very important to show up!!

HEY FORCE!!!!

Hey there girls!!!
Long time no post!!  (bad joke)  Im happy to say that i am finally see everyone lifting weights and starting to push themselves!!  Starting next week we will begin the progressions to the Clean!  i will post a link at the bottom so all of you can see some video on the movement so there wont be any confusion. 

Ladies i know i have said this before but i am very happy with the progress with the movements we have gone over and also with the improvement in everyones mobility!  Just keep working hard girls!

Now i know that not everyone was able to make it friday but for those of you that did good work.  You got some awesome knowledge.  For those of you that didnt you missed out.  The Chief of Police of roseville came to speak to the whole league about what it truely means to work hard.  The girls that came i want all of you to make sure that you pass on the things that were discussed to those that didnt.

Force this week i do not have pictures for you because my phone is having trouble uploading the pictures but i will take care of the problem immediately.  Never fear! Your pictures will be here!

SUP FORCE!

Hey girls!!!
So this week we reviewed the deadlift!  I wanna say that you all did an awesome job with retaining the information from previous classes we spent going over the deadlift.  I want to also say how well all my volunteers did this week when i asked them to demonstrate and coach the deadlift.  Its awesome to see you girls get more and more confident with lifts and hopefully that will translate over into other things in life.  I want to make sure that everyone is keeping up on practicing the deadlift and front squat at home!  It is very important to be doing your own practicing and review on top of what we do in classes and if you have questions about it you can always ask! 

I apologize, to those of you who showed up for the 5:30 friday class, for being absent.  I was out being sick with a bad case of "Sissy-nitious" as Coach Charlie would put it.  But never fear!  I will be back for the Monday classes!  We will be doing deadlifts with actual bars and maybe some weight this week ladies so please be there and be ready to kick some serious tail when it comes to lifting weights!! 

The goal for february is to get you girls lifting actual weight each practice and then when March roles around we are going to begin to learn how to do the Clean.  That will be a very important movement to learn so please make it a bigger priority to not miss any practices ladies!!

GREAT JOB THIS WEEK FORCE!!!

Ladies i just want to say that you all worked super hard this week!!  I saw everyone working really hard and i am really starting to see the hardwork you all have been putting into stretching!  For those of you that missed it this week we began to front squat with moderate weight on the bar.  Now ladies i want you all to keep pushing the stretching at practices!  i wanna see everyone with awesome form on their front squats so we can get those numbers up!

Now i know some of you have been talking about your wrists hurting during front squats.  I am sorry but ladies that pain is part of being an athlete.  If you would like to wrap your wrists that is totally okay with me.  You can either buy Wrists wraps from a local sports store, or you can buy athletic tape and i will teach you at class how to wrap your writs correctly.

Girls, thank you all for wearing the proper clothing to practices this week i truely do appreciate it.  My policy will stay the same for the rest of the season, so please do not start testing me on it.

I know some of you feel like we didnt really get a chance to lift super heavy but this week was just so all of you could get used to how it felt to lift with weight and to learn how to be safe with weight.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRACTICE YOUR DEADLIFTS!!!  Do not forget this lift girls.  I want all of you to be able to do it by the time we do it again.

Again Force i am super proud of all the hard work and energy you all are putting out there, keep it up!

How we did this week!

Hey there Force!
First off i want to say that everyone that came this week did an amazing job at paying attention and working hard.  I can tell everyone is actually stretching at home and really absorbing all the knowledge we are trying to pass on to you!

Alright now time for the athletes of the night from Monday night!  From the 4:30 class we have Candice Reynoso.  Candice worked hard all night even though she had a busted toe!  From 5:30 we have Mia Cambell,  she was pretty sick monday night and even though she wasnt feeling so hot she was pushing through the workout like a boss.  Lastly, from the 6:30 class is Connie Garcia.  It was Connies first night working out with us and she did not let up!!  She payed close attention during the skill portion and totally killed it during the sprints!!  good job girls.

Wednesday night classes i did not forget you dont worry =).  From the 5:30 we have Mackayla Olidan.  Mackayla did a great job when i asked her to show the deadlift to the rest of the class not to mention she did good during the workout!  From the 6:30 we Olivia Larora.  Wednesday night Olivia showed alot of leadership when she encouraged everyone through the stretching as well as showing alot of confidence during the deadlift demo.

Now some reminders for you guys.  Girls continue to stretch.  Remember, if the stretching is not uncomfortable then you are not stretching well enough!!  Also make sure everyone is practicing there deadlifts and front squats at home.  Next week we will be front squating with weight.  If i see bad front squats then you will not be using any weight you will stick with pvc.  Everyone knows how to do both of these lifts so please do not show up without practicing.  We need to keep pushing forward and not fall behind.

Force i spoke with all of you that i do not want short shorts any longer in the gym while we train.  If you do not have long shorts or leggings or workout pants then you need to purchase some.  You will not train if this rule is broken.  I am trying to keep your legs from getting scratched up while we lift.  Please do not test me on this rule. I want everyone training!

Thats all for now ladies!  Be sure to be at the gym by 5:30 so Coach Charlie and myself can get you ready for any tournaments you have this weekend.  Again great job this week Force.  Keep it up!

Wednesday Night 5:30 and 6:30 classes

Whats up Force!!  Just wanted to say how awesome everyone did this Wednesday!  ladies huge improvement in mobility.  Make sure you keep stretching so we can perform to our full potential!!
Athlete of the class from the 5:30 class is Sky!  Out of all the girls she showed the most improvement in her mobility from last week which showed me that she has been stretching, not to mention she totally killed it during the workout!  Athlete of the night from the 6:30 class is Brooklyne!  She never once gave up during the entire night.  I could also see a huge improvement in her front squat!  This tells me that she has alot of heart and dedication to getting better as an athlete, and thats is what  i want all you girls to be striving for!


BIG NEWS!!  tonight we have a mandatory league meeting at 5:30 so be there to help prep yourself for what ever games you have this weekend!  We will not be working out, but we will be stretching so wear comfortable clothes.  Also i would like to get the schedules of tournaments so Coach Charlie and myself can try to come to games to cheer you guys on!

Monday night pics!




Monday night classes!

Hey Force!
Great job last night working hard ladies!  There were a little bit of road bumps here and there but we all got through learning the deadlift and i was very pleased with that.  Now ladies it is up to you to practice the deadlift on your own.  YOU NEED TO PRACTICE!!  If you are only practicing when you come to train with me,  you will not be able to retain the information that was taught!

Athletes of the night!!  Every single one of these athletes busted there behind and payed attention in class and was constantly ecouraging there partners during the workout!!  For the 4:30 class we have Brooke Mcneal, for the 5:30 Manroop Sandhu, and for the 6:30 we have Kaitlyn Tran.  Ladies you did awesome and keep it up!!

Alright girls i want you all to remember to stretch this week and make sure that you are practicing all the things we have gone over. Again great job ladies!

Tonights class

Hey there Force!  Tonight was a little bit of a small turnout but those of you who came tonight mad props.  For the ladies who did not come we went over 3 key points.  The first was the mental preparedness that is required to be an elite, competitive athlete as well as how to get ourselves into that routine of preparing for games, practices and training with yours truly =).

The next topic covered was nutrition and how much it can effect our performance in practices, games, and strength training.  Remember "garbage in, garbage out."  So if we eat like crap we are gonna perform like it.  So what does that mean you ask??  It means making sure we aren't fueling our bodies with chips and candy.  We are eating healthy proteins, carbs, and fats...which means plenty of veggies, meats and fruits.  Remember ladies, as athletic growing young women we need to fuel our bodies properly! We do not need to cut back calories and skip meals.  Make sure you are eating breakfast, snacking, eating lunch, snacking, eating dinner, and maybe snacking a little more!  You must always drink plenty of water as well!  When you are feeling fatigued and thirsty at practice, then you are dehydrated, which will greatly affect your performance.  Please drink plenty of water to maintain a high level of performance and to keep your body properly fueled.

The last thing covered was stretching.  Force, we need to be more flexible!  It is that simple.  If you are not stretching at least twice this weekend with the stretches we have gone over during practice then you  are not giving your body the flexibility training it needs to reach it's maximum potential!  Get on it and take care of your body.  You should be checking the website mobilitywod.com and hit at least one new stretch per week.  As training continues, I will make sure everyone is very familiar with this website.

Alright ladies make sure you are all safe this weekend and for those of you with games, be sure to kick some butt and bring that intensity!!  See you all monday!!

Wednesday's 5:30 and 6:30 getting done with killing the W.O.W.!

This last week.

Hey there ladies, Coach Tim here.  Just wanted to say how awesome i think you all did this week and how excited i am to see you all continue to improve.  I wanted to keep you all updated of what we all i have planned for the rest of your season as far as training goes.

Starting next week every class will be having an athlete of the night.  Myself and the coach that will be assisting me will pick this athlete on how hard they worked, listened, or improved from previous practices.  This person and there name will be posted at the end of each night so be sure to check the blog!!!

Tomorrow evening at 5:30 we will be having a league meeting.  Every girl from every team needs to show up so we can discuss mobility, nutrition, and mental preparation.  Following the discussion we will go into some stretching to get you all prepped for any upcoming games you will have this weekend.

Starting last night, we will be taking a class picture after every single training picture and it will be posted on this sight asap.  For the classes from monday night i apologize i owe each class 20 burpees =(.

Lastly, at the start of every week i will be posting the plan for the workout of the week or the "W.O.W.".  Please check it ahead of time so you know exactly how to prepare for the upcoming workout.
